Dijital sanatçılar, tarihçi Dr. Suzannah Lipscomb’la işbirliği içinde tarihî isimlerin 21. yüzyıla uygun portrelerini çizdi. Tarih kanalı Yesterday tarafından “Secret Life Of…” (Falancanın Gizli Hayatı) adlı programı için yapılan çalışmada, söz konusu isimlerin hem meslekleri hem sosyal konumları göz önünde bulunduruldu.

ADMIRAL LORD NELSON Admiral Lord Nelson has been magically transported to the 21st Century via a unique art project commissioned by TV channel Yesterday to celebrate its new historical series Secret Life OfÉ. starting on Thursday 2nd May at 9pm.  A team of digital artists from the channel spent three months updating a series of classic portraits - working closely with award-winning historian Dr Suzannah Lipscomb to ensure the new artworks accurately reflect how the historical figures might look in 2013 Adrian Wills, General Manager of Yesterday commented: ÔSecret Life OfÉ takes a completely new perspective on the lives on some of historyÕs most fascinating and notorious figures. Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Shakespeare, Marie Antoinette and Nelson are among the iconic personalities whose lifestyles and habits are dissected through the eyes of the contemporary, celebrity-obsessed world.  These great characters are reimagined with a modern take, showing them in a completely different light - much like the new re-versioned portraits.Õ

Amiral Lord Nelson, bugün donanmada olsaydı daha çok masa başında çalışacağı için biraz daha kilolu resmedildi. Savaşta kaybettiği sağ kolunun yerine protez takıldı.

Mantığa önem veren güçlü bir lider olan I. Elizabeth’in saçları kısa kesildi. Modaya meraklı olduğu için canlı renklerde bir takım elbise giydirildi. I. Elizabeth kötülüğüyle bilinen dişleri düzeltilmiş olmasına rağmen hâlâ gülümsemiyor.

MARIE ANTOINETTE
Marie Antoinette’in üç metrelik saçı doğal olarak omuzlarından döküldü, kendisine kâkül yapıldı. Küçük göğüslerine silikon takıldı. Modaya tutkusu ve günde üç kere giysi değiştirmesiyle tanındığı için çağdaş bir tasarımcı elbisesi giydirildi. Saç süslemelerinin yerini değişik bir toka aldı. Kötülüğüyle bilinen dişleri düzeltildi.

Kibirli ve müsrif olarak bilinen VIII. Henry’ye siyah bir takım giydirildi ve elmas yüzük ile saat takıldı. Spor tutkusula tanındığından zayıflatıldı. Av, at binme, tenis gibi faaliyetlerle dışarıda vakit geçirdiğinden teni güneş yanığı.

William Shakespeare, çağdaş bir oyun yazarı olarak bir hipster’a dönüştürüldü. Her iki kulağına da küpeler eklendi. Ayrıca saç ektirdiği varsayıldı.
